America Will Never Forget 9/11

September 11, 2017 by TMLC

From the Desk of Richard Thompson

Today is the 16th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attack on America and the God-given freedoms we so cherish.  We remember with anger and anguish the nearly 3,000 Americans murdered by Muslim terrorists in the name of Islam. We also remember and honor those first responders, many of whom lost their lives trying to save others.

This is also a time to remember the thousands of American soldiers who were killed, wounded or are still suffering, in the ensuing wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, and places unknown. We honor all those who answered our Nation’s call to Arms.  We also remember the sacrifices made by their families.

Please pray for all our men and women who are in harm’s way today defending our Nation and way of life.

In his speech from the Oval Office, given on the evening of the September 11th attack, President George W. Bush proclaimed:

“Today, our nation saw evil — the very worst of human nature — and we responded with the best of America.”

That evil still exists within our borders; its goal is to destroy us from within, without the use of guns or bombs.  It is a Civilization Jihad infiltrating every aspect of our society, including our schools and universities, both political parties, Hollywood, main stream media, cultural elite and mega corporations and tech giants.

So, on this 16th Anniversary of 9/11, let us rededicate ourselves to the defeat of this evil. We will never forget September 11; and we must keep the flame of retribution burning until Radical Islam is wiped from the face of the Earth.

Timeline of the Attacks:

8:46 am – American Airlines Flight 11 crashes into the North Tower of the World Trade Center.

9:03 am – United Airlines Flight 175 crashes into the South Tower of the World Trade Center.

9:37 am – American Airlines Flight 77 crashes into the Pentagon.

10:03 am – Passengers aboard United Airlines Flight 93 contact friends and family and learn about the attacks in New York and Washington, they mount an attempt to retake the plane. In response, hijackers deliberately crashed the plane into a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, killing all 40 passengers and crew aboard.

Many before me have observed that “eternal vigilance is the price of liberty.”

God bless America!

A Tale of Two Nations: The Culture of Life and the Culture of Death

January 27, 2017 by TMLC

From the Desk of Richard Thompson
In his 1995 encyclical, The Gospel of Life, Pope Saint John Paul II warned that “we are facing an enormous and dramatic clash between good and evil, death and life, the ‘culture of death’ and the ‘culture of life.’”
Within one week, Americans will have witnessed that dramatic clash between “good and evil”. It is a Tale of Two Nations:  the Culture of Life and the Culture of Death.   Last Saturday the “Women’s March on Washington,” filled with vulgarity, called for violence and praised the killing of unborn children.
Today, Americans will witness the 44th National March for Life.  There will be no vulgarity, no viciousness, and no calls for violence.  It will be filled with fervent prayers and a call to end abortion, which was made a constitutional right by Roe v. Wade.
The pro-life marchers will peacefully proclaim their message which will reverberate throughout the land.  It is also the first time in many years that marchers feel their voices will be heard by the President.   In fact, it is the first time ever that a Vice President of the United States will personally address the marchers.
Vice president Mike Pence confirmed that he will personally address the March, as will Counselor to the President, Kellyanne Conway.
Pray for the women who have had abortions, pray for the 60 Million unborn children who have been killed in their mother’s womb, pray for those unheralded soldiers in the pro-life movement who every day of the week fight to save the unborn, and pray that God will one day forgive our nation which has promoted this culture of death.

Taking a Knee at the 117th Army-Navy Game

December 13, 2016 by TMLC

I was critical of Colin Kaepernick for taking a knee during the National Anthem this season. But, in this situation, I applaud West Point Chaplain Colonel Matthew Pawlikowski for taking a knee during the 117th Army-Navy football game.
army-navy-1
Pawlikowski knelt, feet from the field, praying the Rosary during the final minutes of the game.
When asked what he was praying for, Pawlinkowski replied,
“I began the game praying that no one on either side would get hurt and that God would protect all of us and those who sacrifice for our great nation. Now I’m just praying for an Army victory.”

Pawlinkowski’s words are a sharp reminder that these men are more than football players, but are soldiers and sailors dedicated to our great nation.
When we take a knee and kneel for our prayers, may we too remember the brave men and women, and their families, who sacrifice for our Freedom.

The Dark Road to Christian Persecution: Guilt by Association

December 1, 2016 by TMLC

An overwhelming majority of Americans are Christians.
The Catholic church and a majority of other Christian churches preach that same-sex marriage is a sin.
Now, it’s becoming dangerous to belong to one of these churches, that is, if you want to make a living.
This week, the minds over at millennial bastion Buzzfeed (remember: these are the next generation of media elites) decided to attack the stars of HGTV’s “Fixer Upper” Joanna and Chip Gaines for attending a Christian church where the pastor preaches that “homosexuality is a sin.”  Read article here.
Chip and Joanna have never talked about traditional marriage nor their opposition to same-sex marriage on their program.
Their pastor did though.
And according to Buzzfeed, just their association with the pastor’s Christian church is enough for Buzzfeed to seek their removal.
We’ve gone so far down the slippery slope that for Catholics and Christians attendance at a church which preaches from the Bible, that marriage is the union between one man and one woman, is cause for condemnation.
We know where this path leads. Now is the time to stop it.
