President Trump Honors John Adams’ Vision for Independence Day at Mt. Rushmore

July 4, 2020 by TMLC

*John Adams’ July 3, 1776 Letter to His Wife Abigail Regarding Independence Day Celebrations

“I am apt to believe that it [Independence Day] will be celebrated, by succeeding Generations, as the great anniversary Festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more.”

President Adams continued:

“I am well aware of the Toil and Blood and Treasure, that it will cost Us to maintain this Declaration, and support and defend these States. — Yet through all the Gloom I can see the Rays of ravishing Light and Glory.”

Happy Independence Day weekend.

God Bless America.

Thomas More Law Center Asks Federal Court To Stop LGBT Groups From Harassing The Center For Military Readiness

July 18, 2018 by TMLC

 July 18, 2018

ANN ARBOR, MI – The Thomas More Law Center (TMLC), a national public interest law firm based in Ann Arbor, MI, has taken legal action to stop the ongoing intimidation and harassment of groups opposed to transgenders serving in the military. Yesterday, TMLC filed a motion on behalf of the Center for Military Readiness (CMR) in the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan to stop an effort by LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) activist groups and transgender individuals to compel compliance with a staggering subpoena for the production of documents served on CMR on May 3, 2018.

Kate Oliveri, TMLC Trial Counsel and the principal attorney representing CMR, stated: “This intrusive subpoena seeks information irrelevant to the underling case in which CMR has no part. It is an example of those pushing identity politics attempting to bully and silence any opposition through an abuse of the legal process.”

The subpoena controversy arises out of a federal lawsuit, Ryan Karnoski, et al., v. Donald J. Trump, et al., filed in a Federal District Court located in the State of Washington, by several transgender individuals and major national LGBT activist groups to stop enforcement of President Trump’s August 2017 ban on transgenders serving in the military. CMR is not a party in that lawsuit and did not have any official or unofficial role in developing or implementing President Trump’s transgender ban.

Nevertheless, the LGBT-Plaintiffs served a broad-ranging subpoena on CMR located in Michigan, commanding it to search all its records and electronic files for documents and communications generated in the past 36 months, from June 16, 2015 (the day Trump announced his candidacy) to the present, between CMR and the President, Vice President and the Defense Department, relating to public policy on transgenders in military service or transgender people in general.  Plaintiffs hope to uncover proof that President Trump’s order banning transgenders from serving in the military was motivated by “animus against transgenders” communicated to him by non-party groups like CMR and others.

The LGBT-Plaintiffs filed the motion to compel production of the alleged documents after CMR filed written objections to their subpoena.

Click here to read TMLC’s opposition to LGBT motion to compel production.

Elaine Donnelly is the President of the Center for Military Readiness which she founded in 1993. CMR is an independent, non-partisan, public policy organization that promotes sound principles of unit cohesion, mission readiness, and combat lethality. Donnelly believes that policies should be based on empirical evidence derived from actual experience, not sociological theories and misguided political goals.

Commenting on the LBGT motion to compel production, Donnelly stated: “Their subpoena seeks to violate our First Amendment right to free speech, and to punish CMR for engaging in public policy discussions as an independent source of information and analysis. CMR refuses to be intimidated, silenced or deterred from our mission.”

Donnelly added, “Equal opportunity is important, but if there is a conflict between career considerations and military necessity, the needs of the military and the nation must come first.”

There is a concerted national effort by LGBT activist organizations to overturn President Trump’s ban on transgenders serving in the military. Federal lawsuits challenging the ban have been filed against President Trump in the states of Washington, California, Maryland and in Washington D.C. Three subpoenas were served on CMR, two emanating out of the Washington D.C. case, and one out of the State of Washington case. CMR filed written objections to all three subpoenas. However, a motion to compel CMR to produce the documents was filed only in the State of Washington case.

The demands on CMR to comply with the Subpoena are staggering:

All Documents and Communications from the Relevant Period between CMR and President Trump, the Executive Office of the President, the Trump Campaign, Vice President Pence, the Office of the Vice President, or the Department of Defense, concerning military service by transgender people, public policy regarding transgender people, medical treatment for transgender people, and/or transgender people in general.

According to the Plaintiffs, the definition of the word “communication” means: any transmission by one or more persons to one or more persons by any means including, without limitation, telephone conversations, letters, telegrams, teletypes, telexes, telecopies, e-mail, text messages, computer linkups, written memoranda, and face-to-face conversations; “communication” includes all documents and electronically stored information (“ESI”) containing, summarizing, or memorializing any communication.

CMR opposes the LBGT-Plaintiffs’ motion to compel discovery on the grounds that such discovery is irrelevant and out of proportion to the needs of Plaintiffs’ case, imposes an undue burden on CMR, and infringes on CMR’s First Amendment Rights under the U.S. Constitution.

[VIDEO] Trump’s Clean Bill Of Health Unhinges Reporters

January 18, 2018 by TMLC

January 18, 2018

Reporters were apparently disappointed and flabbergasted that President Trump was not diagnosed as a dying, crazy man. It did not fit their political narrative. So, they peppered President Trump’s examining physician, Dr. Ronny Jackson, with questions that bordered on the absurd. One reporter asked if Trump will want sedation during a colonoscopy.  Another asked Dr. Jackson, “Do you keep a tally of how much golf the U.S. President plays?”

We’ve compiled a brief video of just some of the questions the reporters asked. To keep it short, we did not include Dr. Jackson’s responses.  Here’s the video.

Dr. Jackson’s conclusion on President Trump’s health . . .

“The president is mentally very sharp, very intact…He’s fit for duty. I think he will remain fit for duty for the remainder this term and even for the remainder of another term if elected,” Jackson said.

Dr. Jackson’s detailed summary of President Trump’s health is here.

By the way, Doctor Jackson is a Navy Rear Admiral with the title Physician To The President, who examined former president Obama in May of 2014 and March of 2016.

Courage: President Trump Kept His Word To Recognize Jerusalem As The Capital Of Israel; 3 Past Presidents Failed To Keep Theirs

December 12, 2017 by TMLC

In 1995, by an overwhelming bi-partisan vote, the U.S. Congress adopted the Jerusalem Embassy Act, which mandated the recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and the re-location of the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, by 1999. And just 6 months ago the Act was reaffirmed by a unanimous vote of the Senate.

On December 6, 2017, a day that will be gratefully remembered in Jewish history, President Trump officially recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and announced that America’s embassy would be moved from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.  He kept his promise.  It was a courageous and just decision.

Over 3,000 years ago, long before Christ or Mohammed walked on Earth, King David recognized Jerusalem as the eternal capital of Israel. Responding to President Trump’s announcement, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, commented “Jerusalem has been the capital of the Jewish people for 3,000 years…. It was here that our temples stood, our kings ruled, our prophets preached.”

“But I have chosen Jerusalem, that my name might be there; and have chosen David to be over my people Israel.”  2 Chronicles 6:6

Despite the clear mandate of the Jerusalem Embassy Act, and their solemn campaign promises to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, three presidents, Clinton, Bush, and Obama, failed to deliver.

A video clip of their promises, here.

Apparently, these three past presidents were more concerned about Muslim reaction than implementing the clear wishes of the American people expressed through their elected representatives in Congress.

President Trump delivered on his promise, undaunted by the catalogue of threats of violence and fury which would be unleashed on us by the Arab world.

Inflamed by their leaders, enraged Muslims routinely take to the streets chanting anti-American slogans and burning our Flag. Use of these mobs is a favorite tactic of our “friendly” Muslim leaders who seek to change our policies. These wild-eyed demonstrations and threats of violence must never influence our foreign policy.  It may have worked in the past.  Not anymore.  There’s a new sheriff in town.

Israel is a trustworthy friend.  Moreover, it has the most powerful military in the Middle East and a western style democracy to which we have a close affinity. It stood alongside the U.S. and served as a buffer to Soviet influence in the Middle East in the 1970s. We now have a strong alliance fighting Islamic terrorism.

Let’s stand fast with Israel over our double-dealing so called “Muslim allies,” whose strategic goal is animated by their religion of Islam, which calls for the destruction of Western Civilization, the domination of America and the establishment of a caliphate. Significantly, Turkey, with its horrible history of human rights violations and an on again off again friendship with the United States, has already developed a new partnership with Putin.

Contrary to the hand wringing predictions of doom from our European allies, the UN and the EU—whose policies have already initiated the beginning of an Islamic domination of their cultures—President Trump’s bold new move may actually jump-start a meaningful peace process, a process which for over two decades has been nothing but a meaningless mirage.
