Have A Blessed Thanksgiving from the Thomas More Law Center

November 21, 2018 by TMLC

“Let us keep this Thanksgiving Day sacred, thanking God for the bounty and goodness of our nation. As a measure of our gratitude, let us rededicate ourselves to the preservation of the land of the free and the home of the brave.”

Ronald Reagan, Thanksgiving Day, 1985

Ever since the first Thanksgiving Day on October 3, 1789, when President George Washington issued the first Thanksgiving Proclamation in history, America has never stopped giving thanks to Almighty God for her abundant blessings.

In the Proclamation, Washington stated: “Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor.”

As we gather with family and friends to celebrate Thanksgiving, call to mind all that God has provided, and ask that He forgive our national sins and continue to bless our Nation.

Also, pray for the men and women in our Armed Forces defending the liberties we cherish and too often take for granted, who will be unable to celebrate Thanksgiving with their families and loved ones this year.

Happy Thanksgiving from the Thomas More Law Center

God bless you and your loved ones. God bless America.
Sincerely,

President and Chief Counsel

Honoring Our Veterans

November 11, 2018 by TMLC

Dear TMLC Friends and Supporters:

This Sunday is Veterans Day. It is a day when we, as a nation, remember the men and women of our Armed Forces throughout our Nation’s history, who by their heroic sacrifices and courage purchased for us the freedoms we enjoy today.

We honor and remember the service of all our veterans whenever and wherever they served.

From Lexington Green and Valley Forge to Normandy, to Korea and Vietnam, to Iraq, Afghanistan, and places unknown, America’s Armed Forces have fought for freedom in defense of our great Nation.

Veterans Day honors ALL our military who served—alive and deceased, while Memorial Day honors all those who gave the last full measure of devotion.

Nevertheless, on this Veterans Day, it is altogether fitting that we take a moment to remember and pray for the men and women who laid down their lives defending their family, faith and country, and for their loved ones who still mourn their tremendous loss. Let us also pray for our troops who remain in harm’s way. May they arrive safely back home when their duty is complete.

It is important to note that Sunday is also the 100th Anniversary of the end of WWI, better known at the time as Armistice Day. On November 11, 1918, people all over the world celebrated the end of “the war to end all wars.”

On this Veterans Day, in a world filled with turmoil, it is critical to heed Thomas Jefferson’s words in a December 4, 1788 letter to George Washington. It is embossed over the staircase of the Jefferson Library at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, pictured below:

“The power of making war often prevents it and in our case would give efficacy to our desire for peace.”

God bless our veterans and God bless America.

Sincerely,

Thomas More Law Center Thwarts Muslim Attempt To Silence Disturbing Truth About Islam

October 16, 2018 by TMLC

“I am very confident in saying that if TMLC had not stepped in on behalf of us we would still be fighting to gain back our First Amendment right of free speech.”

– Steve Amundson, founder of the Counter Jihad Coalition (CJC).

Chances are, if you speak boldly about the truth of Islam and Sharia Law you’re bound to run into resistance and conflict. Steve Amundson, the courageous and dedicated founder of the Counter Jihad Coalition (CJC) knows this all too well. He experienced a particularly disturbing incident recently that temporarily prevented him from setting up his booths and getting his message out.

The CJC exists to educate people on the truth about Islam. They do this by setting up tables at different venues, such as the shopping mall shown in the photo above, and pass out factual, truthful brochures. On a given day, they can give out as many as 1,000 brochures.

Although most people are grateful for the information on Islam, Amundson is always on high alert for potential backlash. This past July was no exception.

Amundson and his team, including a pastor, set up their booth at the Los Cerritos Center in Cerritos, California, on July 7th. At one point, two men began snapping pictures of the booth, then getting on their phone.

Soon after, two Muslim women approached the booth and began cursing and causing a scene. Mall security was nearby and began speaking with the women. In the meantime, a white haired Muslim man walked over to the CJC booth and slid a backpack he was carrying under the CJC table. He then began speaking with the pastor from CJC.

After a short conversation, the Muslim man walked away from the pastor.

When Amundson found out that the man was an irate Muslim complaining about CJC’s activities, he became concerned for their safety and called security.

According to Amundson:

“I told security he left a backpack underneath our booth. The Muslim refused to take the backpack. We started to take cover behind cement pillars and told security to either call the bomb squad or have the guy pick up the backpack. He finally agreed to very carefully pick it up and security escorted him away. Security will not say at least right now if he was arrested, if the bomb squad was called or what. Was this a dry run or the real thing?”

Amundson’s subsequent application to place his table at the Mall was denied, citing security reasons.

That’s when Amundson reached out to the Thomas More Law Center (TMLC).

Thomas More Law Center attorneys wrote a letter to the Mall concerning its denial of CJC’s constitutional rights to free speech.   A few weeks after the Mall acknowledged receipt of the letter, CJC was approved.

Amundson was so grateful to have his First Amendment rights restored, that he recently sent an email out to his large group of supporters and thanked TMLC directly, and kindly encouraged his friends to donate to us.

Your ongoing support of TMLC ensures we have the resources to provide immediate legal assistance, to individuals like Steve Amundson and the CJC team.  Thank you for your continued support of the Thomas More Law Center.

 Sincerely,

Richard Thompson, President and Chief Counsel

9/11 Attacks—17 Years Later

September 11, 2018 by TMLC

Today is the seventeenth anniversary of the September 11, 2001, Muslim terrorist attacks on the New York World Trade Center Towers, the Pentagon and Flight 93, which resulted in the death of almost 3,000 innocent Americans. We also remember the first responders who so selflessly and with no hesitation, answered the call to rescue those who were trapped, many of whom lost their own lives in the collapsing towers.

Click here for an interactive timeline of events on 9/11

For 17 years the evil of Islam has existed within our borders.  Islam has infiltrated every aspect of our society, including our schools and universities, both political parties, Hollywood, mainstream media, cultural elite, and major corporations.

So, how effective has America’s response been in 17 years?

17 years later…World leaders still call Islam a “religion of peace,” including former Presidents Obama, Bush and Clinton and Pope Francis.

17 years later…Muslims are within America’s borders training children to carry out school shootings.

17 years later…American public schools are now teaching our children to recite the Shahada, the Islamic conversion creed: “There is no god except Allah and Prophet Muhammad is his messenger.”

17 years later…victims of the 9/11 attack are still dying from the poisonous dust from Ground Zero.

17 years later…The Muslim Brotherhood, which vows to destroy America from within, continues to operate within our borders.

17 years later…CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations), which vows to make the Koran the highest authority in America and was listed as an unindicted co-conspirator in a terrorism trial, still exists, and routinely appears on national TV spewing Islamic propaganda.

17 years later… Muslims are still persecuting and slaughtering thousands of innocent Christians throughout the world.

17 years later…our Armed Forces are still fighting in Afghanistan, the longest war in America’s history, with no end in sight.

17 years later…American soldiers are still dying in faraway places defending Islam and Sharia law.

17 years later…Turkey hates our guts, formed an alliance with Russia and Iran, and seeks to re-institute the Ottoman Empire.

17 years later…Islamic activity in America is stronger, not weaker.

17 years later…we continue to bring Muslim refugees that do not want to assimilate into our country at taxpayer expense.

Consider this fact: the U.S. government has spent more than $7.6 trillion on defense and homeland security since the 9/11 attacks.

Islam has fought a religious war against Christianity for over 1400 years. And those wars will continue as long as Islam’s goal remains Islamic domination of the world.

Why the West Point and Air Force Academies should remove Nike’s Swoosh Logo from their Athletic Gear

September 5, 2018 by TMLC

September 5, 2018

When Colin Kaepernick kneeled during the national anthem two years ago, he intentionally showed contempt for our flag and the thousands of Americans whose coffins were draped by it, who died defending it. . . and, yes, defending Kaepernick’s constitutional right to express his disdain for our country.

On Monday, to commemorate Nike’s 30th anniversary of their “Just Do It” campaign, Nike announced that one of the new faces of their ad campaign was none other than Kaepernick’s. Apparently, Kaepernick has been on Nike’s payroll since 2011, but he hasn’t appeared in ads for the past two years. Honoring Kaepernick as someone who “sacrificed everything” because of what he believed in is ridiculous and nothing more than a cynical business decision to make more money.

If Nike truly wanted to honor those who “believe in something” and “sacrifice everything” they need look no further than the grave markers at Arlington National Cemetery.

Nike’s new marketing plan celebrates Kaepernick’s disrespect for our Nation, our flag and those serving in our Armed Forces. And as a result of Nike’s celebration of Kaepernick’s actions, so does the Nike swoosh logo.

So why should the West Point and Air Force academies advertise a private company on their athletic gear which prominently honors someone who shows contempt for our Flag and Country? Why should the men and women of these service academies, many of whom will one day be in harm’s way defending our Flag, and sadly, some whose coffins will be draped by it, be used as live advertisements for Nike’s crass and cynical political statement celebrating contempt for our Nation?
